Ideal for medium-sized logs up to 30 inches in diameter and 16’ 7” long, this portable bandsaw mill is perfect for turning fallen hardwood and softwood trees into dimensional lumber or slabs. Great for homeowners, hobbyists, and small-scale builders looking to salvage storm-damaged or removed trees for furniture, fencing, or home projects

2022 Norwood Industries HD38 Fully Automatic Bandsaw Mill

Designed for larger logs up to 38 inches in diameter and 16 feet long, this high-capacity mill can efficiently produce wide slabs, beams, and structural lumber. Best for landowners, farmers, and contractors who need to repurpose oversized trees into valuable building materials or custom woodwork.

Granberg Alaskan Mill – 45” Wide Capacity

Perfect for milling massive logs up to 45 inches in diameter, this chainsaw mill is excellent for on-site slab cutting of large trees. Great for property owners and arborists looking to transform fallen oaks, maples, or walnuts into live-edge tabletops, mantels, or bar tops.

Granberg Alaskan Mill – 75” Wide Capacity

Built for extra-large trees up to 75 inches wide, this heavy-duty mill is ideal for urban timber salvage and oversized hardwood milling. Perfect for property owners, municipalities, and developers seeking to reclaim large trees into one-of-a-kind slabs for furniture, conference tables, or architectural elements.

*Longer cuts beyond 20 feet are available upon request, making it possible to mill extra-long beams or slabs for specialty projects.

2025 rates for portable saw mill production of lumber 10 logs or less:

  1. Travel and set up fee within 25 miles of 60012 zip code $175. 
  2. Bandsaw milling on the HM 130 max will be billed at $155 per hour and any portion of an hour greater than 30 minutes.
  3. Bandsaw milling on the Norwood Hd 38 will be billed at $165 per hour and any portion of an hour greater than 30 minutes.
  4. Granberg 45 inch mill 100 dollars per cut up to 10 feet long than an additional 10 dollars per foot greater than 10 feet
  5. Granberg 75 inch mill 150 dollars per cut up to 10 feet long than an additional 15 dollars per foot greater than 10 feet.
  6. Broken bandsaw blades due to undetected metal or foreign objects will be 45 dollars per blade.
  7. Resharp of Granberg chains due to undetected metal or foreign objects will be 50 dollars per chain.
  8. Normal blade wear is included.
  9. All fuel, cutting fluids, log handling equipment and labor is included in the above pricing.
  10. Rough stacking of lumber within 10 yards of cutting area is included.
  11. Skid steer rental if necessary for log handling will be $1350 per week.
  12. Reasonable clean up efforts will be made after milling, but the client will be solely responsible for any wood cutoffs and dust that was produced during the milling operation.
  13. ¾ inch square stackers are recommended between all milled lumber when air or kiln  drying. Stackers are not included but can be made from cutoffs at a rate of $125 per hour additional to the milling charges.

*More than 10 logs at one location will be quoted independent from this agreement. Minimum board foot production rate for 2025 is $1.60 per board foot.
